Night Dive – Dahab, Mashraba, low season

Part one Entrance.

Uranoscopus rosette Rosette-Spotted Stargazer – 3 of them, sand area, 4 m depth. Common in Dahab

Part two – grass.

Sea Hare – Aplysia nigrocincta. Common in Dahab
Carminodoris flammea – discodorid nudibranch. Moderately common in Dahab
Sea Hare – Petalifera ramosa. Common in Dahab
Polybranchia orientalis – Butterfly Sea Slug. Very rare in the Red Sea

Part 3 – Roman Rock

Marionia viridescens nudibranch – on Xenia coralsCommon
Marionia glama nudibranch. ID tentative. Rare.
Phyllodesmium crypticum nudibranch. We saw dozens of them! I am afraid – they can eat all Xenia corals on Roman Rock. Common in Dahab
Note that rhinophores are almost invisible when this nudibranch is not moving. Hence the name – crypticum, hidden

Part four – shallows, exit.

Gymnothorax rueppelliae Yellowhead Moray – common in Dahab, rare elsewhere
Gymnothorax undulatus Undulated Moray – common
Berthellina citrina sea slug. Common under shallow rocks. Common but rarely seen
Goniobranchus annulatus nudibranch – common
Myrichthys colubrinus Ringed Snake Eel – Common
